Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs -3.5 (8:15pm ET)
The last Thursday Night Football game of the season should be an exciting one as the LA Chargers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead. The (11-2) Chiefs look to stay atop of the AFC West with the (10-3) Chargers right behind them.
This should be an electric atmosphere with it being a primetime game at Arrowhead. Both teams are coming into this one with wins as the Chargers beat the Bengals and the Chiefs beat the Ravens (both at home). Expect a high scoring affair in this one as both offenses are right near the top in most offensive categories.
BETTING THE THURSDAY NIGHT GAME
Vegas has set the line right around 3-4 points (3.5) for the Chiefs, meaning they are expected to win by 3.5 points at home. The over/under in the game is currently at 53 points (scored by both teams). Let’s take a look at some of the previous trends coming into this one.
- 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.
- 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games.
- 4-1-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record
- 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite.
- 12-3 ATS in their last 15 vs. AFC West.
ATS stands for against the spread.
WHO TO PICK?
Melvin Gordon is questionable and Austin Ekeler is ruled out for this one. Even if Gordon plays, he won’t be 100%. This will hurt the Charger’s chances and make the Chargers somewhat one dimensional. It is a home game for the Chiefs and I like for Mahomes to have a huge game and for the Chiefs to cover. I am going with the Chiefs to win 34-24. Pick-Chiefs -3.5
